thrift shop
a store that sells used clothing often donated by dead people or folks with cluttered closets. Thrift shops are sometimes nonprofit organizations that use all proceeds to benefit poor or other disadvantaged people. And the folks who shop at thrift stores include some of the hippest retro fashion shoppers looking for rare articles not to be found at any price in boutiques selling new wares. Thrift shops are frequently popular with art criminals, art romantics and especially art bums, as well they should be. Thrift shops are good for the environment by virtue of refusing to worship our vast landfills. But best of all, many of us in the underground would be naked if not for thrift shops.
